This is my fourth Acer (two each desktops and notebooks). The machine does everything I expected it to do. Sure, there was plenty of crapware to uninstall but that’s the norm for all manufacturers, unfortnately.
I had been a big fan of Acer until this. It had tons of its own application software installed on the machine, no big deal I thought, since I had run into countless situations like this before (over the years I have bought a huge buyer of major brand laptops with the same sort of challenges). But this thing had a ton of applications you could not delete/uninstall in any way, shape or form. I even tried swapping out the hard drive for another, empty 500gb spare I had, installing Win 7 pro on it, and the system would not boot, because it needed software installed on the old hard drive, even going to Acer’s web site and downloading the apps all over again – the wireless LAN N adapter was a big culprit. I had no options. Scream!! First time I had run into such fenced in forced acceptance of software I did not want nor could uninstall on a PC. Never Acer PC’s again. I had 3 10″ Acer laptops from about 2-4 years ago that were flexible – loved them very much, but apparently the company since then decided to change their approach, the wrong way of course. If you are content to let the tons of garbage apps stay on your machine whether you like it or not, along with the forced use of those apps rather than alternatives of your own, go for it. Otherwise buyer beware.
